Your Diwali 2026 WhatsApp Campaign, Date by Date

Diwali 2026 is Sunday 8 November, with Dhanteras on 6 November and Bhai Dooj on 10 November. This is the exact WhatsApp sending plan we recommend — few enough messages to keep your number safe, timed to when people actually buy.

The one rule before any calendar

WhatsApp punishes over-senders precisely when it hurts most. Meta tracks a quality score per number; too many spam reports and your broadcasts get rate-limited in Diwali week itself. The safe ceiling is 2–3 broadcasts per week to the same list (4–5 only in the final festival week), and every recipient must have opted in. The full rules are in our broadcast compliance guide — read it once before the season.

Everything below fits inside that ceiling.

The calendar

Three templates you can copy

The honest deadline (1 November)

"Namaste! 🪔 Order by Sunday 2 Nov to get delivery before Diwali. After that we can't promise it — couriers get full. Browse: [your link]"

This works because it is true. Fake urgency ("only 2 left!!" every day) trains customers to ignore you.

The gifting list (26–27 October)

"Confused about Diwali gifts? Our 5 most-gifted items this season, all under ₹999: [link]. We can add a name card free — just reply GIFT."

The Diwali greeting (8 November)

"Wishing you and your family a very happy Diwali! ✨ Thank you for supporting a small business this year. It means more than you know. — [Your name]"

No link. No offer. Signed with a human name.

Beyond broadcasts: status and replies

Measure it honestly

After Bhai Dooj, check three numbers: how many people opted OUT (above ~2% means you sent too much or too salesy), which broadcast produced the most replies, and which produced actual orders. Keep the winners for next year's calendar. Your own results beat any template — including this one.

Common questions

When should I start Diwali WhatsApp marketing in 2026?

Start with Navratri (mid-October) — one "collection is live" broadcast — and build to your main offer around Dussehra (~20 October). Diwali is Sunday 8 November 2026.

How many Diwali broadcasts are too many?

Stay at 2–3 per week to the same list, at most 4–5 in the final week. Above that, spam reports rise, opt-outs climb, and Meta can rate-limit your number during your best sales week.

What is the last date to promise Diwali delivery?

With standard domestic shipping, around 1–2 November 2026. State it plainly in a broadcast — an honest deadline is your most effective urgency message of the season.

Should I send a sales message on Diwali day?

No. Send pure wishes with no link and no offer, signed with your name. Sell before (Dhanteras, 6 Nov) and after (Bhai Dooj, 10 Nov) instead.
